Conor and I opted to do a “first look”, and I’m so incredibly glad that we did. In this day and age it’s becoming a very common tradition, but I had always been back and forth on the idea. However, in the end I’m grateful that we ended up choosing this new tradition. Seeing Conor beforehand provided me with so much calm and ease, and just assured me that on that day I was truly marrying my best friend.
My Dad walked me to my first look with Conor, which really was as symbolic to us as him walking me down the aisle.

I absolutely love this image. Whenever I see it, it truly warms my heart. My first love, leading me to my forever love.

I really wasn’t too nervous the entire day, but as soon as I saw him for that first time, all nerves I possibly could have had just disappeared and I was more calm than I ever imagined myself being on my wedding day.
Conor and I spent some time on the dock together, just embracing each others warmth (literally and figuratively) and enjoying our special moment.

Checking out the dress

Can’t forget the back of the dress too!! 😉

From there, we headed up the mountain a bit for some more pictures- which turned out to be quite the adventure…
When coming up the mountain that day, our photographers had seen a snow maker machine blowing lots of snow and thought it’d be beautiful to get pictures with all the snow falling as well as the snow covered trees in the background. What we didn’t realize was the excursion it’d take to get up to that snow maker.

Conor and I both took a ride in a Snow Cat on our wedding day!! As my movement in my dress was pretty limited, it required me to be lifted and pretty much tossed into this giant machine.
What better time to have your first ride in this machine than on your wedding day? In your expensive beautiful ivory satin wedding gown, 4 inch beaded heels, and cathedral length veil!?

Sitting on my soon-to-be- husband’s lap, we were forced to get up close and personal with the Snow Cat operator. Conor had to keep reminding me how “awesome this is” and I just had to keep reminding myself that all the dirt and grease on my beautiful expensive wedding gown were no big deal at all. All in all, it is a great memory to look back on and we got some pretty awesome pictures to document it as well.
We spent quite a bit of time getting some pictures together up on the mountain with the snow all around us until our fingers and toes just about froze off (it was 12 degrees on our wedding day). There are so many beautiful images from this part of our day but I did my best to choose just a couple of my favorites to share

After our time taking pictures up on the mountain, we headed back to the venue to snap some pictures with our wedding party and family.
