WHAT IS A BEAUTYCOUNTER CONSULTANT?
A Beautycounter Consultant is someone who has joined the Beautycounter company with the intention of building a business through educating, selling Beautycounter products, and/or building a team.
AREN’T YOU JUST ANOTHER “PYRAMID/MLM SCHEME”?
We are a mission-based, education first company. Yes, we are within the Direct Sales industry, yet we do things very different than others making us NOT a pyramid scheme. Clients can shop online through the Beautycounter website- either directly on their own, or through a consultant. As a Consultant you have the opportunity to build a “down line” and recruit others to join your team- however these recruits are able to out “rank” you in the company if they do well enough. In a typical “pyramid scheme” this is not possible. At Beautycounter it’s impossible to succeed by riding on someones coattails and not putting in the effort yourself.
DOES BEAUTYCOUNTER HAVE PARTNERSHIPS WITH ANYONE?
Beautycounter has had retail partnerships with Target, J. Crew, and Goop. Our products have been sold within these stores and companies previously.
We also strongly focus on education and advocacy by partnering with three non-profits who share similar goals as we do. Healthy Child Healthy World, the Environmental Working Group (EWG), and the Breast Cancer Fund.
HOW DO I BECOME A BEAUTYCOUNTER CONSULTANT?
Anyone interested in becoming a Consultant can sign up by going to Beautycounter.com and choosing “Become a Consultant” on the header of the homepage. Once on the “Become a Consultant” page, select “Join Now” to enroll.
HOW MUCH DOES IT COST TO BECOME A CONSULTANT?
Your initial $85 investment includes a Starter Kit, which contains everything you need to launch your new Beautycounter business: Opportunity Brochures; Client Order Forms; Social Hosting Pamphlets, Look Books, as well as your own Personal Website, and access to “Behind the Counter” where you will find any and all training guides you could possibly need to get started on the right track.

WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF BECOMING A BEAUTYCOUNTER CONSULTANT?
Beautycounter Consultants enjoy many benefits, including the ability to purchase products at a 25% savings. The Career Plan pays up to 35% commission on retail sales and enables Consultants to earn bonuses and override commissions based on sales and recruiting requirements. Consultants also have the ability to earn special incentives, including trips, exclusive Beautycounter items, and access to invitation-only events.
HOW DO I MAKE MONEY AS A BEAUTYCOUNTER CONSULTANT?
You make money by selling Beautycounter products to your friends, family, and acquaintances through Socials, One-on-One appointments, and online. You can make up to 35% commission on each product you sell. You can also earn additional income in the form of override commissions when you recruit others to join your business.
HOW TIME-CONSUMING IS ALL OF THIS?
One of the best things about being a consultant for Beautycounter is that this is your business, and you run it however you want to. So really, it’s as time-consuming as you want it to be. For me with a full time job already as a nurse, I didn’t feel like I had enough time to do this as well. However, I use just a little bit of time on my days off to do Beautycounter work and make some really great side cash. OR you can go full force and all into this business and turn this into a full time job. Again, it’s up to YOU how time consuming you want this to be.
DO I HAVE TO SELL A CERTAIN AMOUNT EACH MONTH?
With Beautycounter, there is no monthly requirement of sales. Our Career Plan is a pay-for-performance plan, which means that in order to be paid each month, you will need to meet certain requirements. Consistency is essential for continued growth and business success, and it is for this reason that Beautycounter has activity requirements for all Consultants. In order to maintain active Consultant status, you must meet the following requirement: 1,200 in Qualifying Volume (QV) every six months, 250 of which must be New Volume (NV). This amount includes your personal orders and sales to Clients and Members. Those Consultants who do not meet their six-month activity requirement will be repositioned to Band of Beauty Member status. Though this may sound intimidating, it’s actually quite easy- just in my first month alone I had already met my 6 month requirements.

DO I HAVE TO PURCHASE OR KEEP AN INVENTORY OF PRODUCTS?
No, there are no minimum purchases or inventory requirements. All purchases with Beautycounter are optional. However, they have an incredible option of different starter kits available to new consultants when they sign up. Three different starter kits, all different sizes, at almost 50% off. This is the cheapest that you will ever receive these products for and Beautycounter does this so that if you want to you’re able to get your collection started off strong. But again, those are COMPLETELY OPTIONAL!!
WHAT’S A SOCIAL? DO I HAVE TO DO THEM?
A great way to reach out to new people and tell them about Beautycounter is through socials! Socials can be held in person or on facebook. Either you or a friend offers to host a social at their home, or any local area, and invites a handful of friends and/or family over who they think would be interested in learning about Beautycounter’s mission and products. This is your chance as a consultant to allow these ladies/gentlemen to hear about our mission, see our products, touch them in real life, and get to try them out! Guests of the social have the option of ordering through you at this time. If they decide to order through this social, then their sales go towards helping the host earn some great rewards. Depending on sales, they can get up to 5 products half off and 5 products for free!
Though you do not have to do socials to earn an income from Beautycounter, often they are incredibly successful and generate a good amount of sales.
HOW DO I REACH OUT TO PEOPLE AND TELL THEM ABOUT BEAUTYCOUNTER?
Online through facebook or other social media sites, in person at socials, one on one appointments, etc. You’d be surprised how conversations around Beautycounter can pop up just about anywhere (work, kids sporting events, at the grocery store, out to dinner with friends, the list goes on!)
