WOW.
It has been way too long since I’ve posted.
Let’s fix that.
There are lots of big things happening around here! Those who follow me on facebook or instagram know that as of a week ago, we are officially homeowners!! But, more on that in a future post. We’ve got some catching up to do…

Faces of some happy new home owners!!

Now that we finally have internet in our new house, I’m using this time to catch up on the blog. We’ve had quite a few busy weeks lately which included a trip home for me to attend a fabulous family wedding, as well as attending to some wedding planning of my own! I was only home for a couple of days, so the hours were jam full of activities
Thursday was spent at Conors parents home with his Mom and mine working on some crafting projects for the wedding. Lucky for us, Conors family lives on a large plot of land which contains all the outdoor greens, supplies, textures, and trees we could ever need for a Vermont Winter Wedding. The DIY-bride in me loves every part of this. Here are a couple pictures of our crafting day. We left with tired arms and cuts on our hands, but had a blast. Can you guess what we’ll be doing with these??
That evening we took a trip to the Inn at Essex where many of the ย wedding weekend events will take place. A group of us including me, my parents, my brother Kegan, and Conors parents enjoyed a tasting of all the foods available for the wedding. As it is a culinary resort, we knew that the food would be delicious, but I found myself surprised at just HOW TASTY it all was! I’m determined to prove all those people wrong who tell me I’ll never eat at my wedding because I’ll be too busy! Trust me, now that I’ve tried this food, there’s no way I’ll let my plate of artichoke and wild mushroom ravioli pass me by. No pictures from the evening, as I was too busy stuffing my face ๐
Friday morning my Mom and I headed to our wedding venue to meet with the wedding coordinator and stir up some ideas for table placement, decorations, and overall flow of the day. Last time both of us were there together was when we were just touring the venue, so now that we’ve got it booked and have had ideas brewing in our head for some time now it was time to talk it all out in person while being able to view how it can all come together. I swear, I don’t know what I’d do without our wedding coordinator, Shana. She has so much experience and has seen so much, she gives me tips and advice on things that I would have never even thought about! She’s a wedding genius, I give her all the credit.

See you in January, Ponds!!
From The Ponds, my Mom and I drove to downtown Burlington to try some cupcakes for the wedding. Conor and I have VERY different tastes when it comes to desserts. He’s all chocolate and peanut butter whereas I’m a lover of fruit and coconut. Because of this, we thought a variety of cupcakes in all different flavors would be best for our wedding. My Mom and I took advantage of the fact that at this cupcake shop you can try 6 different flavors of mini cupcakes. Yup, we at them all, and didn’t hate one bit of it.

The cupcake queen! Seriously, how beautiful is my Momma!?

The rest of the day was dedicated as a family day. My brother had come in from San Francisco, and it was the first time all five of us have been together since Christmas. We had my grandmother over for dinner that night to celebrate her 79th birthday. It was a gorgeous Vermont summer evening in the backyard.
Saturday was the big day for my cousin, Finn, and his fiancee, Lindsay. They had been engaged for quite some time so this day was long awaited by everyone eager to attend! We all packed the car and took the 1.5 hour drive to the beautiful Mountain Top Inn, in Chittenden Vermont (look it up if you’ve never been. You’ll want to pack your bags and visit ASAP). A balmy 90 degree ceremony outside had some people making frequent trips to the water station, but with Vermont weather they’re lucky it wasn’t raining, sleeting, or even snowing! The Florida girl in me was acclimated and taking in all the sunshine I could ๐
It was a blast to spend the night with all of my Dads side of the family. Every aspect of this wedding was beautiful- from the bride herself, the ceremony, those VOWS, and the decorations. A band from Boston played some awesome music and kept the dance floor packed all night. It was truly a wonderful event. Congratulations to the new Mr. and Mrs. Finn Davis!

The ceremony setting, how beautiful right!?

How awesome is this? Lindsay’s Grandmother was their flower girl.

The new Mr. and Mrs.!!

I headed back to Florida shortly after where things then kicked into full gear around here! Wedding planning, more job hunting, buying a house, and then moving (for the 5th time in a year). Nope… not exhausted at all! ๐
Check in soon for an update on our new home!!
